The Charity Updates this week are terrific with birthdays,events and visits that marked another week on charities that Henry Cavill supports as an ambassador – Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust & Royal Marines Charity – these are the causes that he supports and spread through images, social networks and events that he participates. Lightness, comedy and emotion are the ingredients for the success of The Durrell’s TV series according to the cast of the period drama which tells the story of Gerald Durrell, founder of Jersey Zoo.

The Durrell’s that was released at ITV in April 2016 is shown worldwide and has been nominated for four BAFTA Awards. It is considered by the cast as a welcome escape from the current reality, on a Sunday night, but, everything that is good, lasts little. And has already been confirmed by The Mirror that the next season of The Durrell’s, will be the last.

September 13 was celebrated the day of the Mountain Chicken Frog and And as we had already told, a tireless fieldwork has been done to help save this species of extinction. Whether you fly like a butterfly or a turtle, this year’s Durrell Dash will be a colorful celebration of the exciting new exhibition of Jersey Zoo’s butterflies and turtles!” With that special call, Durrell invites for the official inauguration of Butterfly House, located next to the Organic Showcase in November.

The Durrell Dash takes place on November 4, 2018. And the riders can choose the 6 or 13 km courses, around the slopes of Trinity. And they are invited to wear wings or dress in vibrant tones to celebrate the kaleidoscope of colors that will be exhibited at the new exhibition.

The event will be financed by Rathbone Investment Management International, which comments on its support: “We are very pleased to once again partner with Durrell for Durrell Dash. It has always been a fantastic and fun event and we are happy to be able to continue our support to a local charity that does such a great job here in Jersey and around the world.

The funds raised at Durrell Dash will support the ongoing costs of the new Butterfly House. . Check out Durrell’s website.

The Royal Marines week started with the visit more than expected of the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, arriving at the Commando Training Center in Lympstone – Training Center for all official RM, recruits and reserves – for the first time since taking over the position of Captain Royal Marines in 2017, formerly occupied by his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Commando Training is the home to the Royal Marines Family and various wellness groups, with an on-site Rehabilitation Center. The Duke joined one of these groups, who meet weekly, for a chat to learn about his work.

During the visit Prince Harry also met the Invictus Games Racing Team and their specially adapted racing cars. Invictus Games Racing is a collaborative Project of the  Invictus Games Foundation, established in 2017, which has a team consisting of four former Royal Marines, RAF and Parachute Regiment, as well as two professional drivers.

Talking a little more about the Captain General Royal Marines, Duke of Sussex- on the 15th was his 34th birthday. The Royal Marines congratulated him on that day and thanked him for his visit.

His Royal Highness, Prince Harry is the sixth succession line to the British throne and much admired and respected by his people.

The “Corps Families Weekend” weekend was brilliant. The RM and their family had a great day of fun and fantastic encounters, like with Mr. Ron Walters telling stories of Commando 43’s daring 75-year-old attacks.

The same way that the MRI event was a success the British Championship of Adult Gymnastics that the Royal Navy participated also was. The Royal Navy gymnasts won 42 medals, three national team titles and five individual national titles, making them the most successful team in the competition.

The championship, which attracted more than 300 participants, was held at the Lilleshall National Sports Center. To know more about the event, just check out Royal Navy website and stay informed about the details.
